IngCH has been staging Technology and IT Weeks in secondary schools throughout Switzerland as part of its talent development programme since 1992. Each project week offers a range of different perspectives on engineers and MINT professions in general, raising interest in the field and helping to deepen understanding.

Feedback from the participants

40% of the young people who participated in the engineering and computer science weeks say in the survey immediately after the week that the image they had of the engineering profession has changed positively. 34% already had a positive image beforehand. This is according to 959 responses collected in fiscal year 2021/22.

Has the image of the engineering profession changed over the week?

But are these young people now actually starting engineering, computer science or MINT studies because of Engineering and Computer Science Week? We ask them again 3-4 years after Technology Week: what they are studying and whether the week had an impact. 11% confirm that they chose a relevant course of study because of Technology Week (from 327 responses, 2019 survey, response rate 32%).

Did the week have an impact on your choice of study?
