Beat Weibel, Head of ETH transfer at ETH Zurich, is a European Patent Attorney with a background in Electrical Engineering and European IP law (LL.M.). He held senior IP roles at ABB and Siemens, including Chief IP Counsel. As a long-time lecturer, he teaches patent law and “IP for PhD Students.” He has strengthened the university’s innovation ecosystem, supporting researchers in commercialising technologies across diverse fields. Beat is a strong advocate for collaboration between universities and industry and actively contributes to international networks in technology transfer and innovation.
