Marc Schmassmann studied Earth Sciences at ETH Zurich with a specialization in climatology and hydrology. He worked for five years at EBP as Project Manager in the Water & Environment Department before joining Swiss Re as a Risk Engineer focused on liability risks. After four years at Swiss Re, he spent one year at SBB as Maintenance and Contract Manager before returning to Swiss Re.
