Lukas Müller
Lukas Müller holds a bachelor’s degree in international IT Management from HSLU (Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts) and a master’s degree in international business from ZHAW (Zurich University of Applied Sciences). He has been with IBM since November 2025, bringing prior experience from Bechtle and Siemens.
Joël Mesot
Joël Mesot has been President of ETH Zurich since 2019. At ETH he studied physics and obtained his doctorate with a thesis on high-temperature superconductors. He spent several years researching quantum materials in France, the USA and above all at the Swiss Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI) where he was promoted to head the Laboratory for Neutron Scattering in 2004. In 2008 he became director of the PSI and was promoted to full professor at ETH Zurich. Since taking office at ETH Zurich, Mesot has deepened dialogue with political actors both in Switzerland and internationally and driven forwards strategic fields such as AI, energy, space and cyber security.
Anne Mellano
Anne Mellano is Co-CEO of FAIRTIQ, a Swiss mobile pay-as-you-go solution that simplifies access to public transport through automatic ticketing. She holds a master’s degree in civil engineering from EPFL and has more than 10 years of experience in both the public transport and SaaS industries.
Peter Kummer
Peter Kummer has been Professor of Practice at EPFL since September 2025. From 2010 until May 2025, he served on the Executive Board of Swiss Federal Railways (SBB), first as Chief Information Officer and, from 2020 to 2025, as Head of Infrastructure.
Karim Ibrahim
Customer Success Engineer at IBM Switzerland (MSc Computer Science from HSG) with over six years of progressive experience spanning security engineering, cybersecurity consulting, and enterprise pre-sales. I support Enterprise & Strategic Accounts across the Swiss market on IBM's Maximo Application Suite, TRIRIGA, and Envizi portfolios, guiding clients through Proof of Value engagements and adoption strategy, while expanding into commercial deal execution.
Anna Fontcuberta i Morral
Anna Fontcuberta i Morral, a Full Professor of Materials Science and Engineering and Physics at EPFL, became the school’s president in January 2025. With a PhD from École Polytechnique in Palaiseau and leadership experience at institutions such as Caltech, TU Munich and EPFL, she has advanced sustainable semiconductors and quantum technologies while co-founding Aonex Technologies to bridge scientific innovation and entrepreneurship. She actively served on the Presiding Board of the Swiss National Foundations’ Research Council. She is a member of the EPFL-WISH foundation, whose goal is to support female students in accomplishing their professional goals.
Professor Fontcuberta i Morral has received numerous prizes and accolades, such as the Emmy Noether Distinction of the European Physical Society, the ERC Starting Grant, the Marie Curie Excellence Grant and the prize for the best teaching from the engineering students at EPFL. Of Spanish and Swiss origin, she is fluent in five languages.
Olga Fink
Olga Fink is Associate Professor at EPFL, where she heads the Intelligent Maintenance and Operations Systems (IMOS) Laboratory. She is the recipient of an ERC Consolidator Grant and a Fellow of the Prognostics and Health Management (PHM) Society. Her research focuses on AI for understanding, predicting, and optimizing infrastructure and complex engineered systems, with interests in Physical AI, multimodal learning, foundation models, and trustworthy autonomous decision-making.

Vincent Ducrot
Vincent Ducrot has held the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) since 1 April 2020. The engineer from Fribourg, a specialist in rail transport in Switzerland, has thus become the first French-speaking Swiss person in nearly 50 years to head the SBB. From 2011 to 2020, the electrical engineer, specialising in IT, held the post of Managing Director of Fribourg Public Transport (TPF). It was also at SBB that the Fribourg native, who is also an expert in project management, spent the bulk of his career (1993 to 2011) in various roles. After obtaining his A-levels (Latin and languages) at the Collège du Sud in Bulle, he graduated with a degree in electrical engineering (specialising in computer science) from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL) in 1987. He supplemented this training with a postgraduate diploma in industrial organisation from the Centre for Industrial Management (BWI) at the ETH Zurich, as well as a certificate in portfolio management (Certified Portfolio Director IPMA Level A) and the OWP (Orchestrating Winning Performance) continuing education programme at the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Lausanne.
